Blade Runners
On January 2, 1990  Sting became a member of the Four Horsemen after he defeated Rick Flair in a Iron Man match at the December 13, 1989 Starrcade.
Sting was at the peak of his career and it came down to top contender (Sting) vs Flair.  Three of the horsemen felt Sting had gone against their code of honor. When the four horsemen came out for an interview on Clash of the Champions, it was Ole Anderson that told Sting "Sting your not going to be a Horseman anymore, that's it."   A Stunned Sting pleaded for an explanation and instead got beat up by Flair and the rest of the Horsemen.
Later during a cage match that the horsemen were having, Sting ran out and climbed the cage as security ran out to hold Sting back and avoid a confrontation they pulled him off the cage.  When Sting landed on the floor he felt a sharp pain and was ignoring it to get to Flair and the rest of the Horsemen.
Backstage however Sting realized that something was very wrong when he couldn't support his weight on his left knee.  Sting had torn a tendon in his knee and would require major surgery and be out for a minimum of six months.

On June 13, 1990 Sting took action and requested a long-awaited title shot from Flair.  The response was a title match against Flair at WCW's "The Great American Bash" scheduled for July 7,1990.  Sting pinned Flair with a simple rollup and became World Heavyweight Champion.  It was the First of many times he would hold the title.

February 29, 1992 Sting would gain his second World Title.  His reign would last less than five months before it ended with Vader taking the belt.
Sting won the belt back for six days in March 1993 but it would take more than four years before he would win the World title again.

In 1996 when the NWO formed, Sting declared himself a free agent and walked out of War Games.  In the months that followed Sting promised his fans that they would see him when they least expected it and "there's only one thing for sure with the "Stinger," and that's that nothing is for sure."  For the next 16 months gone was the bright face paint which now was replaced with a white and black mask, trenchcoat and a baseball bat by his side.  Sting would often be seen lurking in the rafters of arenas at WCW shows.  Sting felt betrayed by WCW.

In August of 1997 JJ Dillon contronted Sting,
demanding  he reveal what he wanted after Sting had turned down match after match to wrestle that had been offered him.  Sting pointed to a fan holding a Sting Vs Hogan sign and yet Dillon still didn't get the message. To make his message clear Sting again appeared on televison.  As he stood on the catwalk a recorded voice of a child reading a poem was played summing up Sting's silence.

"When a man's heart is full of deceit it burns up,
dies, and a dark shadow falls over his soul.  From
the ashes of a once-great man has risen a curse,
a wrong that must be righted.  We look to the skies
for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black heart of the same man who created him.  The battle between good and evil has begun.
Against an army of shadows comes the Dark
Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of
silence and a mission of justice."

Sting wanted Hollywood Hogan and would get to wrestle him for the World title at Starrcade that
December 28,1997.  Sting would win the title only
to have JJ Dillon ordering Sting to give up the World title on the night of January 8,1998.Saying that there would be a rematch for the title.  An outraged Sting glared at dillon and told him "You have no guts"  then turned to Hogan saying "Your a dead man."
Sting won back the title on February 22,1998 but lost the title to Randy Savage on April 19,1998 to Randy Savage (Macho Man).

After months of fighting the NWO both in and out of the ring, Sting finally joined the Wolfpac.  Once again he changed his face paint to a red and black mask this time.  After months of silence fans got to see another side of Sting as the red-faced sting became more vocal and interacted with the fans and showing more of his personality.
